Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Sunday said that dispensary with modern equipment can be made available in all districts and even blood banks can be set up at various places in the state with the help of Bihar Red Cross Society.
In a program organized to celebrate the first anniversary of the "Ma Blood Center" functioning under the auspices of Ma Vaishno Devi Sewa Samiti, Patna, the Governor shared his experience as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh and pointed out that a cervical cancer detection unit was set up there with with the help of the Indian Red Cross. He said the unit can be installed in an ambulance and used to detect the disease prevalent in women while moving from one village to another. Early detection of the disease can prevent loss of life, he said.
The governor, who happens to be the ex-officio chairman of the Red Cross Society in the state, referred to a rehabilitation center for people affected by the dreaded disease muscular dystrophy at Solan in Himachal Pradesh and said even Prime Minister Narendra Modi had discussed it. disease in his program 'Man ki Baat'. He said that people should rise above political considerations and work to eradicate and control such diseases and serve the ailing humanity.
